Reinventing the Wave

Swallow me, swallow me
Before the emptiness does
Follow me, follow me
I’ll show you everything that was
Don’t mistake, don’t mistake
Emotion for devotion
But don’t come late, don’t come late
When you’re brimming like the ocean
Your waves, your waves
Assure my shore erodes
Your praise, your praise
Defers, deplores, implodes
Sifting, sifting
And drifting in your ocean
Shifting, reinventing
All that enables motion

On the Verge of my Reprieve

Up to my bedside Satan crept
In might he knelt, with fear I slept
a sleep between awake and dream
where neither world is what it seems
Out of sorts and out of breath
The room is filled with the stench of death
But the blood that spills, it is not mine
but that of a life I left behind
Try to hard not to breathe
Choking on the verge of my own reprieve
A vile beast with gruesome teeth
In black on bone grey he appear to me
Yea, though he may masquerade as an angel of light
It was cloaked in dark he crept that night
He knew I’d ask, if he came
But still I would not say his name
And when he left into sleep I fell
And dreamt I woke, and that’s all I’d tell
Like a rat in a cage with backs to the door
We act in this maze with tact on the floor
But the gentle hands guide – the gentle hands force
The gentle hands will choke if they must, all the way to the door
In dream I stayed, for hours and days
In dream I ran circles around this maze
To afraid to tell anyone what I saw:
Death perched at my bedside, covered in shawl
Vowed never to tell a real soul what I had seen
I began chasing the princess whose Father’s a queen
Golden blonde locks flowing strait at her side
Her eyes they did change, when each day she died
*LIGHTS FLASHING ON my heart pound as I slept
An angel did walk in my room and she wept
The beast at my side just laughed in her face
Satan whispered and muttered: I mock your damn grace
I had dreamt he had gone but there he had stayed
Until that day beside me she laid
She entered my dream and took my hand
She cut the head of the dragon and now I understand
As each golden lock, to a serpent did turn
And fall to the floor, I’m watching them burn
Up to my bedside Satan crept
In fright he ran, as the angel she wept
The gentle hands guide – the gentle hands force
God’s gentle hands brought this angel to my door:
To show me the truth in dream
And the dream in the truth
To help carry my worries
And the burden of proof
A Celestial spirit, humble in flesh
She cut the head from the dragon
and delivered me from death
*[In the place where only God can stand
He sends Christ in place for man
And in all the places in between
He sends angels into the darkest dreams]
